What is a progressive group lesson?
A group lesson consists of several students learning from one instructor. Students work primarily on basic steps and technique. Our group classes at Paradise Valley differ slightly from other valley studios as we offer a progressive style of learning for each group class. Progressive group lessons will focus on a single dance over a 4 - 8 week period with each lesson reviewing and also building on the previous lesson to create a simple but learnable social routine. At the end of each 4-8 week period we encourage our students to join us for a night out to practice what they have been learning and put their dancing to work.

What is the difference between a practice party & evening out party?
Our practice parties prepare you for dancing socially and allow you to apply material learned in your lessons without the pressure of the public eye upon you. Our students attend to have fun, learn, and dance! At our parties, we dim the lights, supply the music, and have a fabulous time. Students have the opportunity to dance and meet other students, as well as the other instructors. Our evening out parties will give our students an opportunity to use their dancing out in a social environment along with our students. The location will be determined ahead of time and our staff will join the dancing for a short period of time. All students are responsible for their own transportation, their own admission, and any drinks or food they wish to purchase at the location.

Our American-style curriculum consists of 14 basic dances that will allow you to dance anywhere, with anyone, on any occasion! The most common American-style dances are Fox Trot, Waltz, Tango, Rumba, Cha-Cha, and Eastern Swing, with Samba, Mambo, Merengue, Western Swing, Texas Two-Step, Bolero, Viennese Waltz, and Paso Doble available by request.
-
How should I dress for my lesson?
Wear something comfortable that won't inhibit movement. Of course, comfortable shoes are recommended! We suggest a pair of leather-soled shoes for gentlemen and a shoe with a back for the ladies.
- Is it difficult to learn to dance?
No. Our trophy system and progressive system of instruction makes it easy to learn. It will take time to learn the various dances and a repertoire of steps. However, the learning is easy and fun. A steady approach with periodic practice will produce visible results in a short period.
